Crazy Taxi: World Tour's Japan Map Keeps The Route Fast And Vertical
Sega's Tokyo Game Show trailer reveals a Japan route built around rail lines, alleys, rooftops and six-player multiplayer.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour's new Japan map looks built for route choice rather than sightseeing. Sega's Tokyo Game Show trailer shows narrow alleys, elevated roads, rail-side paths and jumps that let drivers cut through the city instead of following normal traffic.
The game is still planned for 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
The Japan route uses height

The useful detail is verticality. Drivers move under and beside rail lines, launch between road levels and enter spaces that would be impractical for ordinary traffic. That gives the timer-based driving a route-learning layer instead of making the map a larger version of the original grid.
World Tour is keeping arcade mode
Sega says the full game has five cities, a story campaign following Axel and a separate Arcade mode built around earning as much money as possible against the clock. Multiplayer includes competitive modes for as many as six players, with cross-platform support listed on Steam.

What remains unclear
The trailer shows a strong route concept, but Sega has not given a firm release date or explained how progression and vehicle customization affect the arcade balance. The map is promising. The handling and mission pacing will decide whether it still feels like Crazy Taxi after the scale increases.
For now, keep it on the list. The Japan footage shows a game designed around speed and shortcuts, not an open world that happens to contain taxis.
