Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core Update 3 will add a new boss, and Ghost Ship Games is aiming to release the update in late October or early November.

That timing is a target rather than a fixed launch date. The studio shared the window with a brief boss teaser during The Big Break Showcase and said more information will follow in the coming weeks.

The boss is confirmed; its rules are not

The teaser establishes a large new encounter for Update 3, but Ghost Ship has not yet published the boss's name, attack set, rewards or access requirements. It would be premature to treat the reveal as a complete encounter guide.

An official high-resolution screenshot shows a squad facing a large fiery creature in a cave, matching the update's focus without revealing how the fight works. Players should expect the full mechanical breakdown closer to release or when Update 3 reaches a public test branch.

A flexible late-October target

Ghost Ship's wording leaves room for the update to move between late October and early November. There is no exact day, deployment time or confirmed final patch list yet.

That distinction matters for an Early Access game. Work-in-progress Update 3 features were already being prepared for experimental testing, but individual test builds are not the same as the completed public update. Features can change before the main branch receives them.

For now, the reliable details are limited to the new boss and the intended release window. The official Rogue Core announcement includes the teaser and the studio's current timing. Game Pelt will cover the full notes when Ghost Ship publishes the final scope.
