Guild Wars 2 Will Test Its New WvW Map on November 10
Guild Wars 2 tests its new WvW Borderlands map November 10. All Alpine maps are replaced for the beta; new mechanics come later.
Guild Wars 2's new World vs. World Borderlands map enters beta on November 10. ArenaNet's September 22 preview says the test will temporarily replace all Alpine Borderlands maps.
The first beta uses unfinished graybox art and leaves out the new map mechanics. Its purpose is to test the layout, including objectives, travel routes and how fights develop.
The setting draws on Ascalon before and after the Searing. The rough environments shown in the preview are part of that early testing stage.

The permanent replacement is Green Alpine
ArenaNet eventually plans to replace Green Alpine only. The broader replacement of every Alpine map applies to this beta, not the final WvW lineup.
More betas are planned before the finished map launches, and no permanent release date has been announced. For November's test, concentrate feedback on routes, objectives and combat flow; art and new mechanics still have later testing ahead.
