March of Giants Keeps Pioneer Rewards, but Other Playtest Unlocks Reset
March of Giants keeps designated Pioneer rewards, not every playtest unlock. Here is what carries over, how to earn Pandemos, and who can join before October 18.
Most March of Giants unlocks earned in the current Steam playtest will not carry into future tests or Early Access. Ubisoft's October 8 roadmap makes an exception for the designated Pioneer rewards, including Pandemos. Unlocking the rest of the roster now does not mean keeping it for launch.
The Pioneer Playtest runs through October 18, 2026. It is a chance to try the free-to-play 4v4 MOBA's Giants, commanded Soldiers and deployable Battleworks before the next development stages. It is still a test, with bugs, balance issues and unfinished features possible.
Pandemos is the lasting Giant unlock
The carryover list is specific: Pandemos, your Pioneer status and the Early Access Pack. Other unlocked content, including every other Giant unlocked during this playtest, will not transfer. That makes the Pioneer Program the useful target if lasting rewards are your reason to play.
Qualifying takes 1,000 Pioneer Points from completed PvP matches. Wins give 100 points and losses give 50. Without a boost, that means ten wins or twenty losses; mixed results fall between those totals. Leaving before a match ends awards nothing. PvE and Custom Games do not contribute.
An optional 20% boost increases the payouts to 120 for a win and 60 for a loss. Watch one hour of participating Twitch streams with the required account linking, or claim a booster code through the official Discord. Both routes provide the same boost and do not stack.
Pandemos is scheduled to arrive October 12 at 7 AM PDT / 10 AM EDT, 3 PM BST in the UK and 4 PM CEST in Central Europe. In Sydney and Melbourne, that is 1 AM AEDT on October 13. Players who complete the program requirements can unlock him when he becomes available.

Request Steam access before planning a session
New players can request access on the official Steam page and wait for Steam's approval notification. September 2025 Closed Alpha participants are already invited. The test supports selected North American and European countries, not worldwide access, and requires a Ubisoft Connect account.
The reviewed instructions give October 18 as the end date without an exact closing hour. Do not leave your final reward matches until an assumed midnight deadline.
More tests precede summer 2027 Early Access
The roadmap plans further playtests for late winter and spring 2027, followed by Early Access in summer 2027. Those are announced windows, not exact dates or a finished-game launch schedule.
Use the current test to see whether this approach to team combat is worth returning to. If you want rewards that last, check your Pioneer point total and finish the qualifying matches. Other unlocks are for trying the roster now, not building a permanent collection.
