Phasmophobia Crimson Eye: Choose the Event or Normal Investigations
Crimson Eye returns with a seasonal event toggle, trophy upgrades and separate Twitch Drop and double XP windows. Here are the dates to keep straight.
Phasmophobia's Crimson Eye event returns with a useful change for squads that would rather stick to normal investigations: seasonal event maps can now be switched on or off for your session. Kinetic Games added the toggle in update v0.19.1.0, alongside the event scheduled for October 8 through November 1, 2026.
The developer says the toggle will also cover future seasonal events. That gives your group a choice during Halloween instead of making the event conditions part of every session you want to play on those maps. The patch notes confirm the option, but do not give its exact menu location.
Event points now come with a session choice
Crimson Eye brings Blood Moon conditions to selected locations. Players earn event points through investigations, optional objectives and Blood Moon totems, working toward personal and community rewards. Kinetic says the Blood Moon weather increases the challenge from ghosts.
The reward lineup includes a seasonal tee, the Beholder ID Card and Badge, a Blood Moon charm and an upgradeable trophy. If you already own the trophy from an earlier Crimson Eye event, further progress upgrades that trophy rather than giving you a new one.

Turning seasonal maps off is the option for groups that want ordinary investigations. If event progress is your priority, choose the event setting before your session. We have not independently tested the toggle or confirmed the live map roster, so this is a confirmed announcement breakdown rather than a hands-on setup guide.
Double XP starts October 15, not with the event
The double XP and investigation rewards window runs October 15 through October 22. It does not cover the entire Crimson Eye event. That is the date range worth saving if your main reason to return is faster progress.
There is also a separate first-week Twitch Drop. Watching a total of two hours of Phasmophobia streams during the campaign earns the Crimson Eye tee. Kinetic schedules it from the event's start until October 15 at 11:59 PM BST. That cutoff is 3:59 PM PDT and 6:59 PM EDT on October 15, or 12:59 AM CEST and 9:59 AM AEDT on October 16.
The practical plan is simple: choose whether your group wants seasonal maps, then keep the reward windows separate. Crimson Eye runs through November 1, but bonus XP begins a week after its announced start and the Twitch tee has an earlier deadline.
