Squadron 42 now has a Steam wishlist page, with Q2 2027 listed as its planned release window. The standalone single-player space adventure is not available to play, and the current page does not offer a purchase price. A wishlist is a way to follow the launch, not an order.

Cloud Imperium Games describes a campaign built around joining the UEE Navy, piloting combat ships and fighting on foot. The Steam listing identifies it as single-player. This is Squadron 42, not access to Star Citizen's multiplayer universe.

The quarter gives players an April-through-June 2027 target, not an exact launch day. The new listing should not be treated as a fresh delay announcement or a guarantee that the game will ship on the first day of that window.

What the initial PC requirements tell you

Steam currently lists Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM, a graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM and 150 GB of available storage. The processor minimum names an Intel i7 from Sandy Bridge onward or an AMD Bulldozer-era processor or later, with a quad-core CPU required.

Those broad hardware descriptions do not establish a target resolution, frame rate or graphics preset. The recommended section has no substantive CPU or GPU specifications yet. Do not use the minimum list as a promise of smooth performance on your particular machine.

The storefront also says a Roberts Space Industries account is required and supports linking to Steam. That does not establish whether an existing Squadron 42 pledge includes a Steam entitlement. Existing backers should wait for explicit account and ownership instructions before assuming they need to buy another copy.

Add Squadron 42 to your Steam wishlist if you want to track its launch. Before buying or upgrading hardware specifically for it, check the final requirements, pricing and backer-entitlement details. The current listing gives useful planning information, but not a release-day performance verdict.
