Which Terraria Accessories Should You Keep After An Upgrade?
Nine early Terraria accessories look obsolete after an upgrade, but each remains part of a major crafting tree or late-game utility item.
Terraria encourages constant equipment upgrades, but replacing an accessory does not mean the old item is finished. Several ordinary-looking drops sit inside crafting trees that end with the Terraspark Boots, Ankh Shield or other slot-efficient upgrades.
Put these nine items in a labelled chest instead of selling them. Farming a second copy later is usually slower than keeping the first one.
Aglet
The Aglet increases movement speed and is required for Lightning Boots. Those boots later feed the Frostspark Boots and Terraspark Boots tree. An early accessory can therefore remain relevant through most of the game without staying equipped.
Anklet Of The Wind
The Anklet of the Wind is the second easy-to-forget Lightning Boots component. Jungle chest exploration can produce one early, but replacing its small movement bonus is not a reason to sell it.

Hermes Boots Or Sailfish Boots
Hermes Boots and Sailfish Boots provide the running component for Spectre Boots. Either can continue through the same larger movement chain. Keep at least one even after finding a temporary accessory with better combat stats.
Water Walking Boots
Water Walking Boots combine with an Obsidian Skull to make Obsidian Water Walking Boots, then join the Lava Waders path. That path eventually contributes to Terraspark Boots.
Their chest-based rarity is the practical reason to store them immediately. Selling a duplicate before the crafting tree is complete can create another long search.
Lava Charm
The Lava Charm grants temporary lava immunity and is a core Lava Waders component. It can be difficult to obtain naturally, so it belongs in storage whenever it is not equipped.

Obsidian Rose
The Obsidian Rose reduces damage from touching lava and also feeds the Lava Waders crafting route. It drops from Fire Imps, which means an apparently niche combat accessory can become the missing piece in a much larger mobility upgrade.
Lucky Horseshoe
The Lucky Horseshoe removes fall damage and combines into several balloon and horseshoe accessories. Its immediate effect may become less important after wings, but the crafting options remain useful for mobility builds and collection progress.
Cobalt Shield
The Cobalt Shield prevents knockback. More importantly, it combines with an Obsidian Skull to create the Obsidian Shield, which later becomes part of the Ankh Shield.
Do not sell it after finding wings or a stronger damage accessory. The Ankh Shield compresses knockback protection and a large set of debuff immunities into one slot.

Nazar
The Nazar grants immunity to Cursed and is one half of the Countercurse Mantra. That item continues into the Ankh Charm and finally the Ankh Shield.
The Nazar is easy to mistake for a narrow immunity accessory. Its real value is as a rare crafting component. Move it directly into the same chest as the other Ankh materials.
Terraria's inventory becomes easier when storage reflects crafting trees. Keep one chest for movement parts and another for immunity parts. When the Tinkerer's Workshop opens the next recipe, the required item will already be waiting instead of sold for a small amount of coins.
