The Crew Motorfest launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, 2026, with cross-save and cross-progression. If you already play elsewhere, check your paid content before buying another copy: purchases from other platform stores do not transfer, and Ubisoft says you will need to buy the relevant content again on Switch 2.

The other restriction matters just as much for handheld players. Motorfest requires a persistent internet connection, even when you play alone. This is a portable version for places where you can stay connected.

Your progress transfers. Your store purchases do not.

A Ubisoft Account is required to play and connects your progress across supported platforms. Ubisoft separately excludes content purchased through Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store and Steam from transfer to Switch 2.

Before spending money, check which paid packs you actually use. Carrying over progress does not mean the Nintendo version inherits the content you bought for another system. Ubisoft's FAQ says the relevant content needs to be purchased again on Switch 2.

Some extras cannot be bought there at launch. The Year 4 Pass and all car packs are unavailable, with potential availability to be announced later. The Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 Passes, Chase Squad, RC Frenzy and Tomb Raider: Secrets of Ni'ihau DLC packs are listed as available. That is a store availability list, not a promise that every pack comes with the base game.

A Game-Key Card still needs a download and internet

The physical Switch 2 edition uses a Game-Key Card and requires a download to install the game. Buying the box does not remove the persistent connection requirement afterward. Nintendo Switch Online is also required for multiplayer features, including Crewing, Grand Race and Demolition Royale.

Ubisoft lists 1080p and 30 FPS in both handheld and TV modes. Treat those as the publisher's specifications. Game Pelt has not tested this port, so we cannot tell you how consistently it holds that frame rate or how it looks beside the other versions.

The Free Trial and Friend Pass are unavailable on Switch 2 at launch. If performance is your deciding factor, wait for hands-on Switch 2 coverage before paying. If you mainly want something to play without internet while traveling, Motorfest does not meet that requirement.

Shared races, but limits on playing across platforms

Switch 2 players can compete with other platforms in Grand Race and Demolition Royale. Summit Contest and event leaderboards are shared too, and community-created TrackForge tracks can be played across platforms. Those are useful features, but Ubisoft explicitly says the port does not support full cross-play. Do not assume every activity works with your existing group.

Collection Import from The Crew 2 is unavailable on Switch 2. That is separate from Motorfest's own cross-save support, so players bringing an older vehicle collection should check that distinction before buying.

The launch arrives alongside Season 11, which introduces the free Kauai island and Kauai Expedition Playlist. Ubisoft says future game updates will arrive on Switch 2 at the same time as other platforms. New players get current content rather than a version left behind on an old season.

The official Ubisoft gameplay trailer below shows the original Motorfest experience. It was released for the game's 2023 launch and is not Switch 2 footage or evidence of this port's performance.

For a first copy on Nintendo hardware, check the online requirement and wait for performance testing if that matters to you. For a second copy, price the paid content you want before committing. Shared progress is useful, but it does not make this a free move between platforms.
