Blizzard is issuing forced character renames in the WoW Forever beta and has removed beta access from some users over names it says were far outside its Code of Conduct.

The September 24 naming notice says these actions came directly from the development team and were individually reviewed. It also says Customer Service cannot and will not assist with appeals for these actions.

Wider naming enforcement is coming shortly

Blizzard says its naming-enforcement system will come online shortly, but gives no precise activation time or number of affected accounts. It warns testers that deliberately testing the limits can cost them beta access.

The dual-name system gives players more character customization; the existing naming rules still apply. Check Blizzard’s Code of Conduct and keep character names within it rather than assuming the beta provides an exception.
