WoW Forever Opens City of Dalaran for Beta Testing
The October 8 beta update opens City of Dalaran for testing. Both factions share the sewer approach, but quests and damage immunities still need attention.
City of Dalaran is now available for testing in WoW Forever's beta. Blizzard's October 8 build notes confirm the opening, and the developers have explained two details worth knowing before your first run: both factions use the sewer approach, and your usual damage school may not work against every enemy.
This is an opening overview, not a tested boss walkthrough or a complete quest checklist. The confirmed design details are useful now; the encounter-by-encounter instructions still need research.
Keep another damage school ready
The team discussed Arcane Mage testing when explaining Dalaran's immunities. Its dungeon philosophy is that creatures should react in ways that suit their nature, with an Arcane elemental given as an example of an enemy that should be immune to Arcane damage.
That does not mean Arcane-specialized Mages are barred from the dungeon. The developers specifically say those characters have other tools available to progress. Prepare alternative spells instead of assuming your preferred school works on every pull.
The discussion does not supply a complete immunity chart, and we have not verified every current enemy. It would be wrong to claim that the entire dungeon is immune to one school or publish a new best-class ranking from this explanation.

Alliance and Horde share the sewer approach
During development, the team considered different faction entrances. It dropped that split because the sewer route gave a better-paced introduction and reveal of the city. Both factions now follow that approach rather than the two paths originally considered.
The quests and story are not completely identical. Developers say faction-specific elements remain, so using the same entrance is not a reason to copy another faction's pickup checklist unchanged.
They also describe Dalaran as a compact space with a lot of content, rather than a megadungeon. That distinction is about the layout, not proof of an easy clear. No final boss count or completion time is established here.
For your first visit, check the current beta build, keep the spells you may need accessible and separate your faction's quests from assumptions carried over from previews. The dungeon is open to test; a complete route, boss guide and prerequisite list should follow verified runs, not guesses.
