WoW Forever Darkspear Islands: Bases First, Flag Second
Darkspear Islands combines four capture points with a central flag. Here is how to score, where each faction enters and what reputation unlocks.
Darkspear Islands is a 15v15 WoW Forever battleground with four capture points and a central flag. Holding more bases speeds up your score income. Returning the flag to a base your team owns adds points. First to 2,000 wins.
Our beginner recommendation is to secure a scoring base before committing to a flag push. That follows the announced objectives; it is not a claim that one fixed team formation wins every match.
The match rules at a glance
The listed player range is levels 30-60. The islands lie off Dustwallow Marsh, but you do not need to make that coastline your queue destination.
Four capture points produce team score. Your side earns points faster as it controls more of them. The flag starts in the middle and must be brought to a captured friendly base to score.
Those rules make base ownership useful twice: it contributes ongoing points and provides a flag-delivery destination. A central fight is not automatically worth abandoning every held point for.
Horde: Darkspear Raiders at Merchant Coast
Visit the Darkspear Raiders base at Merchant Coast in the Barrens. It has a portal into the battleground, battleground quests and reputation reward vendors.
Check the quests and vendor requirements before deciding what you want to earn. Horde's reputation track for this map is Darkspear Raiders.
Alliance: Theramore Expeditionary Force at Northwatch
The Alliance base is at Northwatch in the Barrens. The Theramore Expeditionary Force offers the corresponding portal, quests and reputation rewards.
Alliance players advance Theramore Expeditionary Force standing. Major-capital battlemasters are another queue option for both factions, so visiting the Barrens base is not the only way to enter a match.

What to do in your first match
If your side has no capture points, help secure one. A flag carrier needs a friendly base to complete the scoring return described by the rules.
Once your team holds a point, keep an eye on it while supporting a coordinated flag attempt. Defending a held base protects its point income and a possible delivery location; leaving it unattended for an unrelated fight can cost both.
If you are carrying the flag, identify an owned base before choosing where to go. If you are helping the carrier, focus on getting that return completed rather than chasing a fight away from the objective.
These are starting priorities, not a tested assignment of players to specific bases. Exact flag bonuses and base scoring rates are not provided in the official overview, so we cannot claim a mathematically optimal split.

Reputation gear, Marks of Honor and the tabard
The faction vendors offer equipment and consumables at different reputation thresholds. The announced categories include trinkets, rings, cloaks, weapons and armor.
Marks of Honor can be turned in through reputation quests. Check the current quest requirements rather than treating every mark as an automatic reputation award.
At Exalted, you unlock a short questline for your faction's exclusive tabard. Reaching the standing threshold opens that follow-up; it is not the only step described for obtaining the tabard.
Before planning a reputation grind
The official explanation does not include complete vendor prices, exact reputation gains or a verified number of matches needed for Exalted. It also does not establish a best class composition or the fastest farming route.
Start by collecting relevant quests and inspecting the reward you actually want. Then play for capture-point control and flag returns to friendly bases. Those are useful first-match goals while the precise scoring and reward numbers still need verification.
