Could WoW Forever Add a New Class After Launch?
WoW Forever players report a targeted Battle.net survey about possible future classes, but Blizzard has not announced a tenth class or roadmap.
World of Warcraft: Forever players are reporting a targeted Battle.net survey that asks for feedback about possible future classes. That is worth watching. It is not a class announcement.
The survey does not appear for every player, and Blizzard has not published its questions as a public news post. Forum users who received it say the survey presents class ideas for feedback and explicitly states that nothing has been decided.
What players say appeared in the survey
One thread on Blizzard's official forums lists Rune Knight, Witch, Bard, Necromancer, Tinker and Illusionist as possible original ideas. The same post also mentions Demon Hunter and Monk, classes that already exist in other versions of World of Warcraft.
A separate forum discussion includes partially different recollections, including a Tinkerer, a Rune Knight and familiar classes such as Death Knight, Monk and Demon Hunter. That disagreement is another reason not to treat the circulating list as a final set of candidates.
The safest reading is that Blizzard is testing player interest across several broad directions: completely new concepts, Forever-specific versions of existing WoW classes, or no additional class at all. Surveys often include ideas that never reach production. They measure reaction; they do not promise delivery.
What each reported class could look like
Players discussing the current survey on Blizzard's forums say it included proposed roles and abilities, not only class names. Those descriptions have not been published by Blizzard in an open announcement, and several recipients say the survey asked them to keep its contents private. The summaries below are therefore Warcraft context, not leaked Forever tooltips.
Rune Master or Rune Knight
Forum reports cannot even agree on the name, using both Rune Master and Rune Knight. Warcraft already connects rune magic to titan facilities, vrykul, earthen and death knights. A separate class could turn that into weapon enchantments, placed runes, barriers or a melee tank kit, but none of those mechanics is confirmed for Forever.
Witch
Witches fit several existing Warcraft traditions: Gilnean harvest magic, Drust curses, troll hexes and darker forms of spirit or decay magic. That gives Blizzard room for damage, healing or control specializations. It also creates heavy overlap with Druids, Shamans, Priests and Warlocks, which would need a clear answer before the class felt distinct.
Necromancer
This is the easiest lore fit. Necromancers, the Cult of the Damned and the Scourge already use corpses, undead servants, disease, frost and shadow magic across Warcraft. The difficult part is gameplay ownership. Permanent minions lean toward Demonology Warlock, while disease, frost and risen servants already belong to Death Knight in modern WoW.
Tinker
Tinker has roots in Warcraft's goblin and gnome engineering, including mechs, shredders, explosives, turrets and mechanical companions. That equipment could support ranged damage, battlefield utility or a mech-based tank. The fantasy is strong; the unresolved question is whether it becomes a full class, overlaps with Engineering, or requires race restrictions.
Illusionist
Illusion magic already exists inside the Mage fantasy through decoys, invisibility and mirrored images. A full Illusionist would need to go further, using misdirection, copies and battlefield control as its main language rather than borrowing a few Mage spells. No public report provides a dependable role or ability list for this concept.
Bard
Bard has the clearest support identity: songs, auras and performances that strengthen allies or weaken enemies. An older class survey discussed on Blizzard's forums described a Bard direction built around support, healing and tanking through the "Song of Azeroth." That older survey is useful context, but it is not proof that the current Forever proposal uses the same design.
Demon Hunter and Monk
Both are already playable classes in modern World of Warcraft. Demon Hunters combine fast melee combat, metamorphosis and fel magic; Monks use martial arts, Chi, brews and mist healing. A Forever version would need a slower Classic-style redesign and a new place in this alternate timeline. The survey does not confirm either class will be imported.
Other names are less consistent
Separate players also remember Death Knight, Warden and San'layn among the options. Death Knight and Warden have direct Warcraft III roots. San'layn are vampiric undead elves tied to the Scourge, making that name read more naturally as a race or faction than a broad class. Because reports differ, none should be treated as a complete candidate list.
Forever still has nine confirmed classes
Blizzard's official race-and-class overview says WoW Forever has nine available classes. The current list is Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior.
Forever already changes that roster without adding a tenth class. Six new race-and-class combinations include Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead Paladin. The new Skyborne race also has faction-specific class choices.
The official Forever deep dive says more race-and-class details are planned for future articles and videos. It also says more class-and-race combinations are planned for future updates. Neither statement confirms a completely new playable class.
Do not pick a future main yet
Right now, there is no confirmed tenth class, no development schedule and no promise that any surveyed concept will enter WoW Forever. There is also no official indication that a new class would arrive at launch rather than in a later content update.
The survey still matters because Blizzard is asking the question at all. Forever is being built as a persistent version of Azeroth rather than a short seasonal experiment, so future additions are part of the larger conversation. A new class would be one of the biggest changes Blizzard could make to its Classic-style combat and group balance.
Until Blizzard puts a class name in an announcement or test build, keep this filed under possible, not confirmed. The first forum discussion and follow-up player reports show the survey conversation, while Blizzard's official class overview remains the reliable launch baseline.
