WoW Forever Gives Priests Shared Racial Spells and Warriors Better Rage
WoW Forever gives every Priest Fear Ward and Devouring Plague while Warriors gain more reliable Rage, baseline stance tools and new milestone talents.
World of Warcraft: Forever is loosening two of the game's oldest class restrictions. Every Priest will gain Fear Ward and Devouring Plague, while Warriors are getting a more predictable Rage model and useful stance tools without spending early talent points.
The changes sit inside Forever's revised talent structure. Milestone talents remain at 11, 21 and 31 points, with a new choice added at 16 points. Dual Specialization becomes available at level 40.
Every Priest gets two famous racial spells
Fear Ward and Devouring Plague become baseline abilities for all Priests at level 20, regardless of race. Race still matters because each Priest race retains two unique spells, including a newly designed pair for Gnomes, but two of the most build-defining old restrictions are removed.
Divine Spirit also becomes baseline at level 30. Shadow Word: Death joins the shared toolkit at level 32, dealing instant Shadow damage and costing the Priest 10 percent of maximum health when it fails to kill the target.
Prayer of Healing will target a chosen party and its pets instead of always healing the caster's own party. Multiple Priests can also maintain Renew on the same target.
New talents push each Priest path further
Discipline receives Soul Warding as a 16-point milestone, reducing the cooldown and Mana cost of Power Word: Shield. Holy can choose Binding Heal at the same point, healing both the Priest and their current target with a 1.5-second cast and no cooldown.
Shadow moves Vampiric Embrace into the 16-point milestone slot. Shadowform will allow all non-healing spells, halve the Mana cost of Shadow spells and increase their critical damage bonus, although its direct Shadow damage bonus is being reduced.
The result is not a single universal Priest build. Blizzard is giving more of the core class to everyone, then using the new milestones to make shielding, paired healing and Shadow damage diverge earlier.
Warrior Rage should stop fighting its own armor
Rage gained from taking damage will ignore armor and absorption effects. Power Word: Shield should therefore stop reducing a Warrior's Rage income, and heavier armor will no longer quietly punish the resource that powers the class.
Rage from dealing damage is being normalized around weapon speed. Critical strikes will generate 75 percent more Rage than normal hits, reversing the launch-beta version that gave them no additional Rage.
Blizzard also says the beta currently has Rage-generation bugs that may take several weeks to isolate. The design is confirmed, but players should not treat today's beta numbers as the finished implementation.
Stance tools and recovery arrive earlier
Tactical Mastery becomes a baseline ability at level 14, allowing Warriors to retain 10 Rage when changing stances. Arms talents can raise that cap further.
Victory Rush arrives at level 20. After killing a non-trivial enemy, Warriors have 20 seconds to use an instant attack that deals damage and restores 10 percent of maximum health. It gives solo Warriors a recovery tool without turning the class into a self-healing specialist.
The new 16-point milestones reinforce each role. Arms gets Spearing Strike, which can dismount enemies and deals extra damage to mounted targets, Dragons and Giants. Fury gets Raging Blows, making Whirlwind strike with both weapons while dual-wielding and reducing Cleave's Rage cost. Protection gets Vanguard, allowing Charge in Defensive Stance.
These changes preserve the old class shapes while removing some of their least interesting restrictions. The official WoW Forever Priest and Warrior class deep dive contains Blizzard's complete baseline and talent-by-talent breakdown, with tuning still subject to beta testing.
