WoW Forever Rogue Dungeon Tools: Sap, Feint and Expose Armor
Rogues gain cleaner crowd control, stronger threat reduction and less friction with Warrior tanks. Use these tools without confusing armor debuff rules.
Rogues bring cleaner crowd control and threat management to WoW Forever dungeon groups. Sap no longer breaks Stealth, Feint reduces twice as much threat, and Expose Armor no longer prevents Warriors using Sunder Armor.
These changes make it easier to work with the group. They do not establish a best-DPS ranking, make every creature a valid Sap target, or prove that Expose Armor and Sunder Armor add their reductions together.
Before the pull: agree on the Sap target
Keeping Stealth after Sap is now baseline behavior. The old Improved Sap talent becomes Dirty Tricks, which reduces the Energy costs of Sap and Blind rather than providing the former Stealth benefit.
That makes a planned control assignment less awkward. Agree on a suitable target before approaching, and make sure the group intends to leave it alone. A smoother Sap setup still needs coordination once the tank starts the pull.
Distract also reduces affected enemies' Stealth detection for ten seconds. It can help with positioning, but it is not guaranteed protection from detection. Against players, the debuff also alerts them that a Rogue is nearby.
During combat: Feint manages your own threat
Blizzard doubles Feint's threat reduction. That gives Rogues a stronger way to manage their own threat while the tank controls the pack.
It is still a reduction, not a confirmed full threat reset. Do not treat the change as permission to ignore the opening or assume the tank can recover every loose enemy. Use the button as part of judging the fight rather than saving it only for an avoidable emergency.
The overview does not establish a universal Feint rotation or exact safe damage threshold. Those depend on the current build, encounter and group.
Expose Armor allows Sunder casts, not a guaranteed double reduction
Expose Armor's reduction is increased to match five applications of Sunder Armor at approximately the same level. Expose Armor no longer prevents Sunder Armor being used on the target.
The replacement rule is important: Sunder Armor does not overwrite Expose Armor unless the Expose effect is weaker. Blizzard explains that this lets Warriors generate threat through Sunder without Expose interfering.
Continued Sunder use is therefore not evidence that both armor reductions stack. Coordinate the debuff with a Warrior tank instead of assuming every overlapping application creates another combined damage benefit.
The redesigned Improved Expose Armor talent reduces Expose's Energy cost and refunds Combo Points when used with five Combo Points. That is an optional talent interaction, not a requirement for every dungeon Rogue.

Prepare compatible poisons and weapons
Poison charges are increased, and poisons can coexist with temporary weapon enchantments such as sharpening stones and weight stones. The preparation no longer forces the old choice between poison and a compatible temporary enchant.
Rogues can also learn to equip one-handed axes. That broadens weapon options, but specific talent requirements still matter: Mutilate requires daggers in both hands. An axe drop is not automatically a usable upgrade for that build.
For your next dungeon, start with a clear control assignment, check your weapon buffs and keep Feint available. If you plan to use Expose Armor, discuss it with the tank. Those are practical group benefits supported by the announced mechanics, without pretending beta damage rankings or a complete optimal build are settled.
