Dune: Awakening’s BattlEye Launch Option Is Disabled After Errors
Funcom disabled the new launch option after multiplayer errors. The hotfix also addresses solo vehicle stats, spawning and Xbox verification.
Funcom has withdrawn Dune: Awakening's new option to launch eligible sessions without BattlEye after it caused errors for some multiplayer players. The feature is crossed out in the amended hotfix 1.5.3.1 announcement.
The option was intended for single-player games and private or self-hosted servers that do not require BattlEye. Funcom's September 19 notes say Steam's launch-option update was not reaching every client correctly. The developer disabled the change and plans to redeploy it, without giving a date.

Solo players still get fixes for spawning beneath the terrain and vehicle-module statistics being overwritten by another module's stats. The patch also addresses the intended 50 percent building-cost reduction failing to apply in the Deep Desert.
On Xbox, Funcom lists a repair for UK and Australian Age/ID verification that could prevent players from joining multiplayer sessions.
Self-hosted servers receive UserServerCustomSettings.ini in the steamcmd download folder. Funcom says that file can be applied to UserSettings to activate the added custom settings.
This hotfix requires a client download. If it does not appear automatically, Funcom recommends restarting Steam before trying again.
