Dune: Awakening Update 1.5 Adds A Full Single-Player Mode
Update 1.5 is live on all platforms with single-player worlds, deeper customization and the conclusion of Book One as console head start begins.
Dune: Awakening Update 1.5 is live on all platforms, and its main change is straightforward: the survival game now has a dedicated single-player mode. The update also adds broader gameplay customization, completes the Book One story and supports the console head start before the September 22 launch.
Single-player is now a separate way to play
Players can create a dedicated single-player world and adjust settings without sharing Arrakis with a normal server population. Funcom says an online connection is required for initial login and character creation, but single-player sessions can continue offline afterward.

Customization addresses different survival preferences
Update 1.5 expands control over the experience instead of treating one balance model as mandatory. That matters for players who wanted the building, exploration and story without the pressure of a populated survival server.
Book One now has its conclusion
The update adds the final part of the current story arc. Returning PC players therefore have new narrative content alongside the mode changes, while console players receive the accumulated updates at launch rather than the original PC version.
Console timing
- Deluxe and Ultimate Edition head start began September 17.
- The standard PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release is September 22.
Players considering the more expensive editions should treat the head start as the main timing benefit. Update 1.5 itself is not restricted to those editions.
Known issues remain
Funcom currently warns that AMD driver 26.6.2 can cause crashes and recommends rolling back. Some Xbox regional account restrictions can also block multiplayer access. Check the live known-issues page before troubleshooting or changing a working setup.
