Factorio: Native ARM64 Linux Builds Reach Steam Experimental
Native ARM64 Linux builds are available, with Steam Frame support and a headless-only Raspberry Pi option.
Native ARM64 Linux builds of Factorio are now available through Wube's website and Steam's 2.1 experimental branch. The September 18 announcement brings native support for Steam Frame and a headless server option for Raspberry Pi, with different limits for each device.
Steam's Linux package contains both ARM64 and x86 executables. A wrapper selects the appropriate version, allowing compatible ARM hardware to run Factorio without translating the x86 build.

Wube says Factorio has received Steam Frame certification. That does not add a VR-specific control scheme: the game runs on a conventional screen inside the headset. The developer's performance comparisons are tied to particular machines and test factories, so they should not be read as a universal speed increase.
The Raspberry Pi restriction is more consequential than the processor support alone suggests. Wube says its current OpenGL requirements prevent the graphical client from working there. The useful new option is hosting a multiplayer world without rendering it.
Choose the headless download for a server and the client for playing on compatible hardware. Steam users who want this release need the experimental branch; the announcement does not put it on the stable branch automatically.
