Grand Theft Auto VI has one preload date you can actually plan around: November 12, 2026. Rockstar Support says digital pre-orders begin pre-loading at local midnight that day, one week before the November 19 launch.

The useful catch is the physical version. Rockstar says the box contains a digital download code, not a disc. Codes can be used once received to support pre-load on November 12, so the case is more of a shelf item than an install disc. Plan your storage and download time like you bought digital, because functionally, that is the path.

What platforms are confirmed

Rockstar’s current support page lists Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is still no PC version listed there, so do not treat PC dates, PC requirements or storefront claims as confirmed until Rockstar updates the platform list.

The physical Standard Edition includes a code for the digital download of Grand Theft Auto VI and the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar says there is no physical Ultimate Edition, but Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade later through the PlayStation or Microsoft stores after redeeming the code.

The quiet thing to check before you buy is region. Rockstar says code redemption restrictions depend on the region tied to your platform account, and PlayStation codes are split by regional buckets. Buying the wrong region to save a few bucks is a very expensive way to spend launch week staring at an error screen.
