The Hades II Keepsakes Worth Swapping Between Regions
Eight keepsakes cover the useful jobs in a Hades II run: shaping early boons, surviving mistakes and preparing for Guardians.
Hades II lets Melinoe change keepsakes between regions after the relevant cabinet upgrade. That makes a keepsake less like a permanent build choice and more like a job assignment. Equip the item that solves the next problem, then replace it when that work is done.
The useful rotation is not one fixed tier list. It changes with the weapon, current boons, remaining Death Defiance and the Guardian ahead. These eight options cover the decisions that appear most often.
Start With An Olympian Keepsake
The keepsakes tied to Olympian gods improve the chance that their owner appears and improve the first boon offered under their rules. Equip one at the start when a specific god is central to the weapon or Arcana setup.
The value is front-loaded. Once the desired god and opening boon are secured, keeping the same item through another region can waste the chance to add defence, money or Guardian help.
Use The Aromatic Phial Before A Fountain
Narcissus's Aromatic Phial improves fountain healing and can improve the rarity of a common boon after drinking. It is strongest when the next region offers a predictable fountain and the run has a worthwhile common boon to upgrade.
Do not equip it automatically. Check the current boon list first. A rarity upgrade matters only when it lands on something the build actually uses.

Luckier Tooth Is The Simple Safety Pick
Schelemeus's Luckier Tooth restores life once after Melinoe falls to zero. It asks for no setup and remains useful when the build is strong but the remaining margin for mistakes is not.
It is a clean late-region swap after an early keepsake has already shaped the run. Other defensive items may prevent more total damage, but the Tooth is easy to evaluate: it provides one additional recovery when the run would otherwise end.
Knuckle Bones Is For The Guardian You Fear
Odysseus's Knuckle Bones reduces the next Guardian's starting life and reduces damage received from Guardians. That makes it a targeted answer rather than a general exploration item.
Equip it before the region containing the fight that repeatedly ends the run. Carrying it through easier rooms is the cost. The payoff is arriving at the actual problem with a shorter and safer boss encounter.

Engraved Pin Can Rescue A Finished Fight
Moros's Engraved Pin briefly prevents death when life reaches zero. If the room is cleared before the effect expires, Melinoe survives with restored life. It rewards aggressive cleanup and becomes unreliable when several durable enemies remain.
Use it when the build can finish rooms quickly but occasionally takes one fatal hit. It is less convincing against a long Guardian phase where the survival window cannot realistically close the encounter.
Experimental Hammer Delivers Its Value Early
Icarus's Experimental Hammer grants a random Daedalus Hammer effect for a limited number of encounters. The randomness can create an excellent weapon interaction or an awkward one, but the temporary effect means there is little reason to keep the keepsake after its encounter count is exhausted.
This is a good early or middle-region experiment when the weapon still needs direction. Treat the result as temporary power, not proof that the run should be rebuilt around an effect that will disappear.

Evil Eye Answers A Specific Loss
Nemesis's Evil Eye increases damage against the enemy that last defeated Melinoe. It is narrow by design. If one Guardian is blocking repeated attempts, the keepsake turns that history into a direct damage bonus.
It is much weaker when the last death came from an ordinary enemy or when the next route does not include the marked target. Check the condition before equipping it instead of assuming the name means a general damage increase.
Gold Purse Buys An Immediate Advantage
Charon's Gold Purse provides money at the start of the night. That can secure an early shop purchase, resource or boon without relying on the first few room rewards.
Its job is complete as soon as the money is granted. If the rules of the current run allow a later keepsake swap, replace it at the next region rather than carrying an item with no remaining effect.
The rotation rule is straightforward: use early keepsakes to shape the build, middle keepsakes to convert known opportunities, and late keepsakes to survive the Guardian that can end the night. A fixed ranking ignores the reason the cabinet exists.
