Last Epoch Season 5 Adds Loot Rituals and a 400-Corruption Boss
Bloody and Frozen Rituals reshape rewards, while Pinnacle Morditas requires 400 Corruption to access. The season starts October 1.
Last Epoch Season 5 lets players give up loot slots to influence later rewards. Eleventh Hour Games' September 21 Rage of Morditas reveal explains two new rituals, different crafting properties and the path to Pinnacle Morditas. The season starts October 1 at 11 a.m. CDT, or 16:00 UTC.
Blood Crystals lead to a second fight
Activating a Blood Crystal starts a timed encounter. Kills build Bloodrage Charges; when the timer ends, a blood-ice arena forms and the defeated enemies return. Survive that second stage to choose rewards.
The panel has five slots: four for equipment and one for rewards such as keys or crafting materials. A charge can take an item and roll new rewards, or pay for a Bloody Ritual or Frozen Ritual.

Bloody and Frozen Rituals narrow the choices
A Bloody Ritual removes the selected slot and excludes that item's type from future rolls. A Frozen Ritual also locks a slot, but makes the next rewards follow its item type. For equipment, it tries to provide similar affixes. Each ritual costs a slot, limiting how many times the panel can be reshaped before selecting an item.
The reward panel persists between encounters unless a selection or ritual changes it. Bloodrage Charges do not carry over. Keep that distinction in mind when deciding whether to take a reward or work toward a different one.
Items produced through Frozen Rituals get Ice Forging Potential, which has a chance to be preserved during crafting. Bloody Ritual items get Blood Forging Potential, which raises the chance of a critical crafting success. The reveal does not give exact percentages for either property.
Pinnacle Morditas requires 400 Corruption
Kills in the seasonal encounters advance access to a three-Echo chain ending with Morditas. Defeating him awards Demigod's Ascendance, the Woven Echo for his Pinnacle version. It requires 400 Corruption to place in the Echo Web, but the Pinnacle fight's difficulty does not scale with Corruption.
The related First Blood race begins with the season and requires seasonal online characters using Solo Account Found or Solo Character Found. Normal and Hardcore have separate class-first prizes, subject to the event rules. Players who simply log into Season 5 during its first two weeks receive the Blood Seeker title; winning the race is not required for that title.
Choose a qualifying character mode before starting if you intend to race. For everyone else, the useful preparation is understanding which ritual narrows the loot toward an item you want. Wait for the complete patch notes and the remaining faction, skill and item reveals before settling on a build for the season.
