Marvel's Wolverine Combat Guide: Build Rage Without Wasting It
Wolverine's combat gets easier when parries, wall staggers and Healing Strikes feed the same plan instead of competing for the Rage meter.
Marvel's Wolverine rewards aggression, but random aggression wastes the same Rage meter that keeps Logan alive. The reliable approach is to build Rage with safe pressure, spend it on healing when necessary, and use damage Techniques only when the encounter is under control.
Build Rage with Barrages and clean defense
Long Barrage strings raise Rage quickly, but a perfect parry can create a safer opening and add a large chunk of meter. Yellow attacks are parry opportunities. Red attacks need to be avoided. Treating both colors as dodge prompts gives up free momentum.

Keep enough Rage for Healing Strike
Healing Strike converts offense into recovery without stopping the fight. If Logan is already under pressure, spending the full meter on a damage Technique can leave no answer for the next mistake. Heal first when health is low; use the remaining meter to finish the encounter.
Use walls and hazards before expensive Techniques
Thrust Kick and other knockback tools become stronger near walls, ledges and environmental traps. A wall stagger creates a clean follow-up without consuming the same resources as a major Technique. Check the room before defaulting to direct damage.
Remove ability inhibitors first
Trask inhibitors restrict Logan's options and make every nearby enemy harder to manage. Destroy them before chasing ordinary targets. Ranged enemies and controllers come next because they interrupt Barrages and make parry timing less predictable.

Change adaptations for the fight in front of you
Adaptations are not permanent commitments. Swap them before bosses or encounters that emphasize a specific damage type, enemy group or recovery need. A general exploration setup is not automatically the best boss setup.
Use assists to remove friction, not difficulty
The accessibility menu includes dodge and parry timing, navigation aids, combat speed and enemy settings. Adjusting one troublesome input can preserve the combat system while removing a barrier. Start with the specific problem instead of changing every option at once.
The practical combat loop
Enter with a priority target, build Rage through Barrages and parries, use the room for stagger opportunities, heal before the meter becomes an emergency, and spend excess Rage once the dangerous enemy is controlled. That loop is more consistent than opening every fight with the flashiest move.
