Phantom Blade Zero: Director Estimates 25 to 30 Hours, Platinum on Any Difficulty
The director separates a qualified first-run estimate from Platinum eligibility, with NG+ built around using late weapons in earlier fights.
Phantom Blade Zero director Soulframe Liang estimates a full playthrough at 25 to 30 hours for experienced players who do not get stuck on bosses. He also says most players can earn Platinum in one run on any difficulty, provided they explore, fight and learn the mechanics.
The answers come from a group interview published October 8. They give you a clearer idea of the first-run commitment, but the runtime estimate and the trophy claim are separate. This is not a promise of a 30-hour Platinum.
The 25 to 30 hours assumes you keep moving
Boss attempts are the condition attached to Liang's estimate. A player spending several sessions learning a difficult encounter should leave more room in their schedule. The interview does not give a separate completionist total.
For now, treat the range as a rough planning number rather than a deadline. Your familiarity with this kind of combat will matter more than matching somebody else's finishing time.
Platinum does not mean starting on the hardest setting
Liang's any-difficulty statement gives trophy hunters a reason to choose the challenge they actually want. It does not mean that reaching the credits alone awards Platinum. Exploration and learning the systems are part of his explanation.
A single-run possibility also does not prove there are no missables. Before planning every collectible and objective around avoiding a second run, check the final trophy list and its exact conditions.

NG+ gives late weapons more time in combat
Liang says New Game Plus lets you take weapons earned from late and final bosses into earlier encounters. Those weapons get little time to be used before the first playthrough ends; a replay gives them more fights.
He says exclusive new content is not locked behind NG+. That makes the mode a reason to experiment with weapons against familiar opponents, rather than a requirement to access newly withheld content. The interview does not provide a complete list of equipment, upgrades or other progress that carries over.

Choose your first-run difficulty for the experience you want, not an assumed Platinum requirement. Leave time for boss practice, use the final trophy conditions before planning collection, and return for NG+ if trying late weapons in earlier fights appeals.
