Tropico 7's free Steam demo lets you play Little Great Britain, the first campaign mission, without buying a preorder. Kalypso Media highlighted the trial in its October 20 announcement, and Steam currently offers a separate demo download for Windows PC.

Download the free demo from Steam rather than choosing a paid edition to get started. The trial covers the opening mission, not the full campaign. It gives you something playable to consider before the game's scheduled January 28, 2027 release.

The publisher describes the demo as part of Steam Next Fest, but this announcement does not give a firm removal date. It also does not confirm save transfer, a precise playtime or a console demo. Do not plan around carrying your island into the final release without a separate confirmation.

Steam records October 19 as the demo app's release date. October 20 is the date of the publisher notice discussed here, not proof that nobody could play earlier.

The free trial is separate from Deluxe early access

The same announcement opens digital preorders and lists 48 hours of early access among the Deluxe Edition benefits. That means access ahead of the full game's scheduled launch, not an extra requirement for the demo available now.

Deluxe also includes digital extras such as a palace facade, an outfit, decorations, a making-of compendium and the soundtrack. Those bonuses do not change which mission the free demo contains.

Our earlier Switch 2 announcement covers that version's planned January release. It is not confirmation of a Switch 2 demo. For the trial verified here, use the Windows Steam listing and try Little Great Britain before deciding whether to pay for the full game.
