Tropico 7 will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2027. The new version joins the previously announced PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S releases.

The Switch 2 Version Has The Same Release Date

Kalypso Media has not announced a later port window. The Switch 2 edition is currently scheduled for the same day as the other versions. A Japanese release date remains unconfirmed.

Tropico 7 Expands Terrain Control

The sequel lets players reshape terrain, create beaches and alter elevation while building across an archipelago. Its campaign follows El Presidente through five maps, while sandbox play supports 10 scenarios and more than 20 maps.

Performance Is Still An Open Question

The announcement confirms the platform, not how the simulation runs on Switch 2. Kalypso has not provided a frame-rate target, resolution details or a control comparison. Those details matter in a city builder and should be checked before buying the portable version.

The useful part of this announcement is straightforward: Switch 2 owners will not have to wait for a later port. The quality of that version still needs to be demonstrated.
