Valheim 1.0.16 Fixes Terrain, but Platform Rollout Takes Days
Patch 1.0.16 fixes reverting Deep North terrain and excess raid spawns. Some seams need manual repair, and rollout will take a few days.
Valheim patch 1.0.16 fixes a Deep North bug that could undo terrain changes after you left an area. Existing seams may still need work: Iron Gate says to repair them with a pickaxe, a hoe or by walking over the snow.
That means the fix may stop your edits from reverting without automatically cleaning up every seam already left behind. Check the affected ground after updating before rebuilding around it.
The official patch notes also list these changes:
- Excess enemy spawns, especially during raids, have been fixed.
- Child of Odin and Comfort is King achievement unlock issues have been fixed. The unobtainable Blue Mushroom no longer counts toward The Gourmet.
- The Low graphics preset now disables tessellation.
- Mac App Store players can restore backups through Manage Saves again.

Crossplay stays available during rollout
Iron Gate says it will take a few days to upload 1.0.16 to every platform. Crossplay remains functional during that period, so friends on different platforms can keep playing together.
The notes also include motion-control activation fixes for Switch 2 and PS5, plus a Switch 2 close-up texture fix. Check your installed version before expecting those repairs; the September 25 announcement does not mean every platform has received the patch at the same time.
