Ace Combat 8 Crash Advice Refers to 48 GB Combined Memory
Bandai Namco suggests RAM plus Windows virtual memory totaling roughly 48 GB to reduce some Ace Combat 8 crashes. A permanent fix is still pending.
Ace Combat 8's latest crash workaround does not call for 48 GB of installed RAM. Bandai Namco's October 16 Steam notice refers to combined available memory: physical RAM plus Windows virtual memory. The publisher acknowledges the game's current memory use as a significant issue and is still working on a permanent fix.
The temporary Windows settings Bandai Namco suggests
The team says its internal tests generally saw fewer occurrences of certain memory-related crashes when combined available memory reached approximately 48 GB or more. Its examples are:
32 GB RAM: set Windows virtual memory to at least 16 GB.
16 GB RAM: set Windows virtual memory to at least 32 GB.
Those examples describe two ways to reach the combined figure. They are not a revised physical-RAM requirement, a promise of better frame rates or proof that every affected PC will improve. Game Pelt has not independently benchmarked the workaround.

Bandai Namco says multiple possible crash causes remain under investigation. It is working both to reduce memory consumption and to resolve crashes, including failures caused by something other than memory. The notice gives no permanent-patch release date.
If crashes are interrupting your sorties, read the official crash notice before changing Windows settings. Do not buy new RAM solely on the strength of that combined-memory figure. This is temporary guidance, not a completed repair.
Our campaign tips cover mission preparation separately. The Ace Combat 8 Steam page provides the current PC listing; neither it nor a successful launch on one machine establishes that these stability problems are resolved.
