Why Should Core Keeper Players Install Patch 1.3.0.3?
Core Keeper 1.3.0.3 prevents bosses from permanently removing mounts, fixes Steam Deck exit freezes and corrects dozens of combat and building bugs.
Core Keeper's 1.3.0.3 stability patch prevents mounts from being permanently removed when bosses attack them. It also fixes a Steam Deck freeze when quitting, restores keyboard map panning and repairs a long list of combat, farming and building problems.
This is a maintenance update rather than a content drop, but several fixes address losses or lockups that could materially affect a save.
Mounts and combat get the highest-impact fixes
Boss attacks should no longer delete mounts permanently. Secondary attacks from Rune Song, Crystal Shard Club and Void Club now deal their intended damage, while Shrooman Brutes no longer regain armour early after being knocked back by slime pets or other attacks.
Summoned minions should stop blocking shovel use, and the Core Commander fight should no longer restart its music repeatedly. Titan Breath has also regained its aiming animation while charging a secondary attack.
Void Caveling, Void Caveling Shaman and Void Caveling Brute figurines now have higher drop chances. Bomb Scarabs, meanwhile, have been corrected so they drop only one armour piece at a time.
Steam Deck, console and interface repairs
On Linux and Steam Deck, the game should no longer freeze when quitting after leaving a world. A separate Linux fix stops C# exceptions from causing a segmentation-fault crash instead of being handled normally.
PlayStation 4 offline play gets a profanity-filtering repair, and black wall tops have been fixed on both PS4 and PS5.
Keyboard controls can pan the map again. Controller users should see accurate map-marker prompts, a steadier cursor and a customization menu that closes when the same preset is selected twice.
Farming and building should be less destructive
Harvesting Moorshrooms or Glowing Mushrooms with a hoe should no longer remove the Mossy Soil or Muddled Moss underneath. Cattle now wait for crops to finish growing before eating them, and critters caught with a Bug Net join existing stacks before using empty hotbar slots.
Thin Glass Walls can be placed beside other walls, torches work when the player stands close to a wall and industrial boxes now appear on the map and minimap. Merchants should also stop spawning inside objects and walls.
Modders receive a higher ghost component cap, PugText preview support and a new early entity-conversion event. The official Core Keeper 1.3.0.3 patch notes contain the complete technical list.
