6 Enshrouded 1.0 Changes That Cut Down the Busywork
Less tapping, fewer storage transfers and more control over the small jobs. These six 1.0 changes are worth checking before your next resource run.
Enshrouded 1.0 lets you collect loose loot automatically, upgrade storage without emptying it and put useful names on your chests and map markers. If you are still handling those jobs the Early Access way, check what changed before your next resource run.
These six changes cover different kinds of busywork, so this is not a ranking. Start with the ones that fit your run. You do not need to change a world setting just because it exists.
Collect scattered loot without tapping for every item
Hold the interaction button to collect nearby scattered loot continuously. If you would rather leave that input alone, enable automatic collection in the gameplay settings.
The important limit: this does not collect loot from containers, defeated enemies or quest-related items. You still need to check those yourself. Automatic collection is useful for loose drops; it is not a replacement for opening every source of loot.
Try the held input first if you prefer deciding when to gather. The automatic option is there if repeated collection is the part you want to remove.
Upgrade a chest without emptying your workshop
Storage chests can now be upgraded where they stand, without emptying them or picking them up first. Before you start transferring a full chest into your backpack, check its upgrade option.
That is particularly useful when the chest holds more than you can carry in one trip. You no longer need to make temporary room elsewhere just to move the contents out and back. It is a handling change, not a promise that upgrades are free or that every upgrade is already available to your character.
Give chests and map markers names you will recognize
Both chests and custom map markers can be freely named. Use that to answer the question you will have later: what goes in this box, or why did I mark this spot?
For storage, names such as Metal Bars, Food or Building Stock are clearer than remembering a chest by its corner of the room. For a gathering marker, include the resource and a nearby landmark. These are suggested labels, not special game commands.
In a shared base, agree on the names before everyone sorts things differently. Naming does not sort your inventory for you, but it gives the group a system they can follow.
Match improved fishing bait to the tier you need
Improved fishing bait now guarantees that a fish which bites is from the same tier as the bait. Choose it with the tier you want in mind instead of treating every bait as interchangeable.
Do not stretch that into a guaranteed catch of one species. The guarantee applies to the tier of a biting fish, and the fishing system still has trash and treasure outcomes. If you need a particular fish, matching the tier narrows the problem; it does not finish the search for you.
Queue the lore and keep exploring
Lore notes, letters, books and other world texts have voiced playback, and you can keep exploring while listening. Multiple entries can be queued instead of reading each one where you find it.
Use the queue when you want the story but would rather keep moving through an area. The launch voice languages are English, German and Mandarin Chinese; do not assume every available text language has matching narration.
Set Updraft's charge duration to your preference
Updraft charge duration is configurable in world settings, including an instant option if you prefer the older timing. This is worth checking if the charge is what bothers you about using the ability.
It is a world setting, not something to assume affects only your character. On a shared world, agree on the change with whoever manages it. It also does not unlock Updraft for you; the timing preference and acquiring the ability are separate things.
If you only change two habits today, stop tapping through every loose drop and stop emptying a chest before checking its upgrade. The fishing, lore and movement options can wait until you use those systems. For construction rather than storage, our Airborne Architect guide covers the separate free-flying building camera.
