Halloween: The Game is getting another patch early next week to address crashes, broken challenges and balance problems. IllFonic has also scheduled a broader quality-of-life update for early October.

The roadmap matters because the launch problems are specific and still active. IllFonic says it is investigating crashes when Loomis enters a match, crashes at the end of single-player chapters and increased crash reports on Xbox Series X|S.

Challenge tracking is still unreliable

Several story challenges are technically completable but remain difficult to trigger consistently. Progressive challenges for Thomas, Rachel, Alexis and Laurie are also being investigated, along with achievements that sometimes fail to unlock.

The Bob Squad strategy is being reduced

IllFonic plans to reduce the effectiveness of selected perks and make repeated staggers against Michael harder. Melee damage, civilian stagger states, wood-axe combo speed and grab struggles are also being adjusted. The goal is to stop groups from locking Michael down through repeated attacks without removing civilian counterplay.

What happens next

  • Early next week: fixes and balance adjustments for known launch problems.
  • Early October: a larger quality-of-life update.
  • October: a separate Halloween celebration, with details still unannounced.

Players affected by crashes should wait for the next patch before assuming the problem is fixed. IllFonic has identified several causes, but the roadmap is a plan rather than a completed repair.
