Teostra is joining Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Capcom confirmed the elder dragon during its Tokyo Game Show program and released another wave of weapon videos for Gunlance, Insect Glaive, Hunting Horn and Switch Axe.

Teostra raises the heat requirement

Teostra traditionally combines fire attacks with blast buildup and punishes hunters who stay close without managing resistance and positioning. Capcom has not published the complete quest progression or final balance, so older versions should be treated as preparation context rather than an exact guide.

Four weapons received new previews

The current video wave covers Gunlance, Insect Glaive, Hunting Horn and Switch Axe. The useful question is not how dramatic one animation looks in a trailer, but whether each action creates a new choice in the existing rotation. Full motion values, guard behavior and resource costs will need live testing.

Ascendance is scheduled for 2027 and requires Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom says players must complete the seven-star assignment Awaking From a Dream before entering the expansion content. There is no reason to build around preview footage yet; use it to decide which weapon to practice before release.
