No Man's Sky Cosmos 7.05 is the meatier patch of the current cleanup run. If Cosmos has been fighting you through expedition blockers, corvette weirdness, station-base limits, or platform-specific visual bugs, this is the one to read before your next session.

Hello Games says 7.05 is live on Steam now and will come to other platforms as soon as possible. That rollout wording matters. The fixes are official, but platform timing still depends on the patch reaching your version.

Expedition Progress Gets Unstuck

The useful headline is expedition progress. Hello Games says 7.05 fixes a Beacon milestone issue when players manually upgraded a building from its control terminal, improves expedition reward messaging, and fixes missing or pointless milestone notes.

The patch also fixes underwater ruins access for players who need a trident key, a wrong marker for the Home in the Stars mission, settlement buildings failing to place correctly, and long waits when upgrading settlement buildings for the Beacon milestone.

That is the practical value here. Less time wondering whether you missed a step, more time actually clearing the milestone.

Corvettes, Stations, and Freighters Get a Pass

Corvettes get several fixes: hatch state problems, an external hatch control button, missing decorative parts in the shop, save reloads that could trap players inside geometry, powered objects not working right after construction, and a VR landing issue with some controller types.

Station and base builders also get attention. Hello Games fixed powered objects in space stations, added more recolor support for exterior station decoration, and added a reset option for a space station base so parts can be freed up for other edits.

Derelict freighters get a long list too, including completion flags, heater behavior, repeated regional names, turret targeting, interior variety, mission flow issues, and drones getting stuck in ceilings. Not glamorous. Very welcome.

Platform Fixes Matter Too

The platform-specific notes are worth separating. Hello Games says the patch adds a significant memory optimization for PlayStation 5, fixes Switch 1 and 2 settings that prevented vignettes and scanlines from being turned off, and fixes PSVR1 and PSVR2 rendering errors tied to refraction, ship decals, and underwater visuals.

There are also networking fixes, networking exploit fixes, collision fixes, discovery fixes, HDR visual fixes, audio mix fixes, and several crash fixes. It is a lot of maintenance, but that is what Cosmos needs right now: less drama in the systems players are already using.

What To Hold

Do not turn this into a claim that every expedition problem is gone. The patch notes cover specific issues, and Hello Games says more server-side alliance balancing changes will continue. Treat 7.05 as a serious cleanup pass, then verify your own blocker before declaring the route clear.
