The Sinking City 2 becomes manageable when you stop treating every enemy as a required fight. Ammunition is limited, rooms often connect back to safer routes, and optional investigations can improve later combat. Spend resources only when the fight protects progress, supplies or a useful clue.

Decide what the fight is buying

Before firing, check whether the enemy blocks an objective, a container or the only route forward. If the room is empty and a retreat is available, leave. Clearing every corridor wastes ammunition without making the district permanently safe.

Let the reticle settle and hit weak points

Panic fire is expensive. Create distance, wait for aim focus and shoot exposed weak points. Dodge charging enemies into open space before attacking so a missed shot does not trap you against furniture or a wall.

Stomp bodies and use the environment

Some enemies can return through abandoned bodies. Destroying those bodies prevents a second problem. Environmental hazards and puzzle traps can also kill enemies without consuming bullets, so watch the room before opening fire.

Bank supplies at safe rooms

Return excess crafting materials and special resources to storage instead of filling the active inventory. Save before arenas and major doors. A short return trip is cheaper than repeating a long section after spending every healing item.

Optional investigations are practical upgrades

Side cases provide Dream Essence, attachments and inventory improvements. They are not just lore. Complete the nearby investigations that strengthen the weapon you actually use or increase carrying capacity before pushing into later chapters.

Use the difficulty settings

Combat and investigation difficulty can be adjusted separately. Lowering combat difficulty does not invalidate the investigation systems. Use the setting that keeps resource management tense without turning awkward gunplay into the main obstacle.

The rule is simple: search carefully, bank what matters, and make every bullet solve a real problem. Arkham remains dangerous, but it stops draining the inventory for no reason.
