The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered patch 5.01 addresses delayed dodging, settings resetting on PS5 and an issue affecting save data. CD Projekt Red released the update on October 8 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Switch 2 is not included in that rollout.

Combat fixes go beyond the dodge response

The developer lists a fix for unintentionally delayed dodges and another for stamina draining completely when sprinting and dodging together. Automatically applying blade oils should also keep working across sessions, rather than depending on enabling the option again during the current session.

Other gameplay changes include damage reflection for Exploding Shield, corrected Synergy tooltip values and a fix for player-controlled boats moving uncontrollably and ignoring terrain collisions. These are the developer's reported changes, not results from Game Pelt testing.

PS5 settings should stay saved between launches

On PS5, the patch addresses settings resetting every time the game starts. Console changes also include Bloom, Light Shafts and Depth of Field options, frame-rate-limit fixes on the base PS5 and a fix for dialogue becoming much quieter after moving through pause-menu tabs.

PC changes target the game selecting the wrong GPU, unsupported graphics options and the GTAO Quality setting resetting after a restart. Dynamic Resolution Scaling now defaults to off. The notes list optimizations and visual adjustments, but provide no measured frame-rate improvement to promise.

CD Projekt Red also says it fixed an issue that could affect save-file data and added measures for saves already affected. That is not a guarantee that every damaged save can be recovered. Keep backups rather than treating the patch as proof that an existing save is safe.

Switch 2 improvements are a separate update

The studio is working on closer parity for Switch 2, including shared changes and improvements to image clarity and sharpness. The announcement gives no release date for that update. Owners should check their platform's patch notes rather than assuming 5.01 has already delivered those changes.

Update before returning on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X/S if these issues interrupted your playthrough. For the broader remaster changes, our Witcher 3 feature guide covers what to use first. Switch 2 players still need a separate rollout announcement, and every platform should keep save backups until its own issues are resolved.
