007 First Light 1.2.2 targets RTX 5070 path-tracing drops to 5–10 FPS in two campaign scenes. IO Interactive’s September 25 patch notes list four main performance changes:

  • Chapter 6: a fix for the slowdown when looking toward the Gala crowd on an RTX 5070.
  • Chapter 8: a fix for the RTX 5070 slowdown during the Smoking Gun cutscene’s camera zoom.
  • Chapter 3: improved path-tracing performance during the opening drive, inside the hotel and during the car chase on high-end GPUs.
  • Online Escalations: a fix for heavy stuttering when starting with path tracing enabled.

The hotfix adds recommended defaults through Graphics, then Restore to defaults. For manual setup, IOI recommends:

  • RTX 5070: Medium path tracing at 1080p.
  • RTX 5080: Medium path tracing at 1440p.
  • RTX 5090: High path tracing at up to 4K.

Use DLSS Super Resolution Auto to follow that guidance. IOI also discusses Multi Frame Generation, so its higher advertised frame rates should not be read as native rendering results.

These are developer-reported fixes, not Game Pelt benchmarks. Update the game and graphics driver, then replay the same checkpoint that gave you trouble before deciding whether to raise the settings.
