Which AION 2 Servers Can You Transfer Between on October 14?
NC has announced initially free server transfers for October 14. Moves stay within the same faction, and Early Access players cannot transfer onto commercial-launch servers.
Your AION 2 server choice is not necessarily permanent, but it is not unrestricted either. NC has announced server transfers starting October 14, with moves initially free and limited to the same faction. Early Access players face another boundary: they can transfer between Early Access servers, not onto commercial-launch servers.
If your friends chose different servers, that is the restriction to check before planning a move. The announced transfer window does not let an Elyos character switch to an Asmodian server, and it does not let an Early Access character join a fresh launch server.
This is an existing September 30 announcement that matters again during the Global launch week, not a new transfer system revealed today. Transfers are not available yet as of October 6.
October 14 is the announced start, not a complete moving guide
NC says the feature will become available starting October 14 and will initially be free. That gives players a date to plan around, but it does not establish a permanent free-transfer policy. The notice does not state how long the opening free period lasts.
It also does not supply an exact opening time, a transfer menu walkthrough, or the complete list of character and destination requirements. Do not assume you can move immediately after midnight in your region, or that every same-faction destination will accept a transfer without further conditions.
If you are picking a server now, the practical advice is to choose one you can play on while keeping the announced boundaries in mind. A future transfer is a possible way to regroup, not a guarantee that any particular destination will be open to your character.
Same faction, with a separate Early Access boundary
The faction rule and the Early Access rule answer different questions. Staying within the same faction is required for transfers generally. Staying within the Early Access server group is an additional restriction for characters from those servers.
For example, an Early Access Elyos character cannot use this announcement as permission to move to a commercial-launch Elyos server. Matching the faction does not remove the Early Access boundary. A move to the opposing faction would also fall outside the announced rules.
NC's short notice does not settle every other eligibility question. Wait for the operational instructions before committing to a destination or assuming your account meets every condition. The safest plan is to confirm the faction and server group with your friends first, then check the actual transfer requirements when NC publishes them.

Cross-server dungeons give groups another option
There is one useful alternative while transfers are pending: NC confirms that all instanced content, including dungeons, is available cross-server. Being on different servers therefore does not automatically rule out playing that content together.
That statement is about instanced content. It is not a promise of unrestricted cross-faction grouping, shared economies, or access to every open-world activity. Do not extend it beyond the scope NC gave.
For a group trying to meet up, check whether the activity you want is instanced before treating a transfer as essential. You may have a way to play together without moving immediately. If a move is still needed, plan around October 14, the same-faction requirement, and the Early Access restriction, then wait for the exact opening time and transfer procedure.
