Battlefield 6 will be free to play on Steam from October 15 through October 19, 2026. EA says every available map and mode will be open during the trial. If you have been waiting to try the game before paying, this is the next confirmed window.

The dates appear in EA's October 12 notes for Update 2.1.1.0, which launched Season 5 on October 13. They are not a permanent giveaway, and the notice specifically names Steam.

What you can try during the window

Season 5 adds Vegas Strip and Area 51 to multiplayer. Vegas Strip mixes streets, hotel interiors and rooftop routes, while Area 51 combines surface vehicle fights with underground combat.

REDSEC also gains Rapid Royale, where kills earn redeploys in faster matches. The trial announcement says every available map and mode is open, rather than listing a small selection of trial maps.

Our Vegas routes and objectives guide covers the new maps in more detail. Use it to plan a first session rather than treating a new map as somewhere to sprint until the shooting starts.

Check Steam before setting an exact session time

EA gives October 15–19 as the trial dates but does not state precise opening and closing hours in this notice. It does not confirm the same free-play period on consoles or through the EA app. Those missing details should not become promises to your squad.

Open Battlefield 6 on Steam when the advertised window begins and confirm that trial access is available. Test the current game on your own PC before deciding whether to buy. A free session can answer that question without committing to an edition first.
