RuneScape: Dragonwilds patch 1.0.0.6 has restored online access and crossplay for Epic Games Store players. The update also adds preventative save protections and makes some previously missing worlds visible again.

That last point needs care: Jagex is not calling this a complete recovery fix. Some affected players may be able to rejoin a world after installing the patch, while others may still be locked out.

Epic crossplay is working again

Epic Games Store players can reconnect to online play and use crossplay after the service interruption. Jagex presents this part of the update as resolved rather than an ongoing investigation.

The patch also fixes a crash that could happen when a player selected Online mode while their PC was offline.

New protections target corrupted saves

Version 1.0.0.6 prevents players from leaving the Edit Appearance menu before the character save has finished. It also stops PC users from creating character files with invalid filenames.

Both changes are designed to prevent further corruption. They do not repair every character or world already affected.

Some corrupted world saves that had disappeared from the menu should now be visible. Jagex says visibility was the main goal of this step. Reappearing in the list does not guarantee that the world will load, and work on currently corrupted saves is continuing.

What affected players should expect

Install 1.0.0.6 before testing an affected world, then check whether it has returned to the world list. If it appears, loading may work for some players, but repeated attempts are not evidence that the underlying save has been fully repaired.

Jagex said another update on the recovery work would follow. Until that arrives, players with inaccessible saves should treat this patch as a partial recovery step and avoid overwriting local backups.

The official Dragonwilds 1.0.0.6 notes list every fix and preserve the warning that save recovery remains incomplete.
