Sea Of Thieves Season 21 Lets Custom Seas Save Entire Layouts
Creators can now save placed objects as reusable layouts, while Season 21 begins a full schedule of live events and a no-fast-travel experiment.
Sea of Thieves creators no longer need to rebuild a Custom Seas setup every session. Update 3.9.0 adds Layouts that save placed items and their locations, with as many as 30 layouts available for each location.
Layouts make custom sessions repeatable

Session owners can save, name, overwrite, load and remove layouts. A reset option returns the world to the last loaded version. New commands also control time speed, player silver, health recovery, ship damage and starting supplies.
Fast travel is being tested, not permanently removed
During Season 21, Voyages and Tall Tales temporarily lose the Dive To option. Crews must sail to their destinations while Rare measures how the change affects encounters on the open sea. The studio says the result will inform whether any part of the experiment becomes permanent.

The first event has a short deadline
Talk Like a Pirate Day runs September 17-22. Crews that successfully use the new Parley Pennant three times can earn the Parley Proficiency Sails. The broader season also includes returning Fight Nights, Emissaries of Fortune, Bilge Rats Weekenders, Community Weekend and Last Ship Standing: Sloops.
The Layout system is the lasting part of this update. The travel change is an experiment, and players should judge it by whether open-water encounters improve enough to justify the added time.
