Palworld Breeding
Get the farm, parents, Cake supply and incubator ready before starting a breeding project. Check current construction costs, scale the ingredients for ordinary Cake and distinguish a missing egg from the wrong offspring.

Do not trust an old pair from memory
- Choose the Pal you need and check its current normal breeding combinations using the linked reference calculator.
- Confirm the exact species and variant of both parents, then use one male and one female. A Noct variant is not interchangeable with the ordinary species.
- Choose from Pals you already own where possible. A valid pair is not automatically the earliest or cheapest route.
- Record the expected normal offspring before producing a batch. Check the first result before committing more ingredients.
A correct species is not a perfect Pal
Passive inheritance, talents, Alpha eggs and mutations are separate outcomes. This setup guide does not promise a specific inheritance chance or calculate offspring with an old breeding-power formula.
Technology level 19Build and assign the Breeding Farm
Prepare the space, deploy both parents and check that the farm recognizes their assignment.Click to collapse
Get both parents working at this farm
- Unlock the Breeding Farm and build it inside a base with room for the parents to reach it.
- Deploy the parents as base workers and assign one male and one female to this specific farm. Merely placing them somewhere in the base is not an assignment check.
- Put finished Cake in the chest attached to the Breeding Farm. Ingredients or Cake elsewhere in the base do not replace that supply.
- Read the farm's status before walking away. Resolve a missing parent or missing Cake before waiting for an egg.

One Cake: five ingredient typesKeep ordinary Cake supplied
Scale Flour, Berries, Milk, Eggs and Honey for the batch you want to cook.Click to collapse
Make the food before promising a long breeding run
Ordinary Cake can be made at a Cooking Pot. Keep a suitable Kindling worker available; a base that owns the ingredients still needs to cook the finished dish. The planner below covers ordinary Cake only, not Mushroom, Vegetable or Special Cake.
The Flour step is easy to miss
Grow Wheat and process it at a Mill using Watering. The current recipe is 3 Wheat for 1 Flour, so one ordinary Cake's 5 Flour represents 15 Wheat if you make all the Flour yourself. This is raw-ingredient arithmetic, not a crop-yield or production-time estimate.

Ranch jobs, not crop jobsBuild the Milk, Egg and Honey supply
Use the correct Ranch Partner Skills and keep the output out of the wrong food supply.Click to collapse
Three different ingredient workers
- Assign Chikipi to the Ranch for Eggs, Mozzarina for Milk and Beegarde for Honey when you have those Pals.
- Confirm that each Pal is actually working in the Ranch, especially Beegarde, which has many other possible jobs.
- Collect or transport the products into accessible storage. Track what the next Cake batch needs rather than assuming that every ranch item will be available.
- Keep regular worker food stocked separately so feeding the base does not unexpectedly consume the ingredients you were saving.
What if you do not own every producer?
Treat Ranch production as one supply method, not a prerequisite for every ingredient. Use ingredients you already have or can legitimately buy, and check your current merchant's stock rather than assuming a particular vendor always sells everything.

Egg Incubator and world settingsHatch the egg, not a stopwatch estimate
Put the produced Pal Egg in an incubator and follow its current status.Click to collapse
Check the incubator after placing the egg
- Build an Egg Incubator and place the produced Pal Egg inside it. The current reference lists technology level 10 and the construction materials below.
- Read the temperature and timer shown for that egg. Different world settings, eggs and incubators mean another player's hatch time may not match yours.
- If the game reports an unsuitable temperature, change the conditions based on that message instead of assuming every egg wants more heat.
- When hatching is available, follow the current interaction prompt. Check the species and relevant traits before beginning another breeding batch.
No universal hatch-time promise
This page does not claim that every egg takes two hours or that a campfire always improves incubation. The world settings and incubator status are the useful checks for your run.

Three different problemsNo egg, wrong offspring or a stalled hatch?
Check the failing part of the process before replacing the entire setup.Click to collapse
No egg is being produced
Check a recognized male/female assignment, the Breeding Farm's own Cake chest, access and the farm's displayed status. Confirm host and client versions if work behavior is persistently wrong; the 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 notes include base-worker fixes, not a guarantee that every remaining issue has one cause.
The egg contains the wrong species
Check the exact parent variants and the reference version. Do not spend more Cake expecting a normal breeding result to change back to an older guide's pair. Check whether you are comparing a normal result with a mutation outcome.
The incubator is slow
Check its temperature message and the world's incubation settings. Improving the parents does not by itself establish a shorter hatch timer. Keep breeding production and incubation as separate checks.
When a base job stops
Check a ready recipe and its inputs, the required work suitability, enabled jobs and access to the station. Then check food, rest, SAN and health. Test one suitable worker on one task before spending a breeding project on a replacement.
The current references use Palworld 1.0.5. Keep host and client versions compatible. World settings, passive skills and upgrades can change results; the natural work levels here are not a prediction of your Pal's final performance.
Sources and version notes
Construction costs, technology levels and natural suitabilities were checked against PalDB's 1.0.5 game-data references on October 24, 2026. Recommendations and suggested work order are Game Pelt's interpretation, not timed gameplay tests. This is not a full story walkthrough, every-Pal database or automatic offspring calculator.
