Once Human 3.1.2 adds practical options for first person controls, Territory building, animal commands and choosing a Custom Server. Start with the changes that match how you play: builders have new batch and placement tools, while Beastmasters can direct animals through marking.

This is an unranked selection of seven useful changes documented in the November 4 update announcement. It is based on the published notes, not hands-on testing. Isles of Abyss ship facilities and Beastmaster commands have specific requirements; they do not apply to every character or scenario. Check your client is updated before looking for the new options.

1. Try left-side weapon placement and revised first person movement

The Camera Switch control can now move your weapon to the left side of the screen in first person. If that is your preferred view, try it somewhere safe before taking it into a fight. Use the binding assigned to Camera Switch in your own control setup.

The same update revises first person rolls, makes ladder movement continuous rather than fixed-distance steps, and supports climbing over low obstacles in different directions. Give those movements a quick check together so you know how the updated view behaves before using it in combat.

2. Change a building's cosmetics with Batch Replace

Within your Territory, connected buildings support replacing or removing material skins together. Facilities of the same type inside one building also support batch cosmetic changes. Use this when you want matching appearances across a build instead of changing each matching piece individually.

The scope is material skins and facility cosmetics. For facilities, group your expectations by matching type inside the building when deciding which appearances to change together.

3. Move a whole house and inspect its construction requirements

The design layout tools now support moving an entire house and choosing a snap point during placement. Holographic construction also displays material consumption when you select the target structure, giving you something concrete to check before construction.

You can select individual structures for construction as well. For a selected floating structure, the system calculates a support path. Review that proposed path and the displayed material requirements before committing to the placement.

4. Add a ship ladder you can use while swimming

In Isles of Abyss, the new Straight Ladder in Water Territory facilities supports direct interaction and climbing from swimming. Check it when reviewing how you get back aboard your ship from the water. Rolling Shutter Doors can also be built on ships to divide their interiors.

These are Water Territory additions for that scenario. For the wider ship setup, our first Isles of Abyss voyage checklist covers the preparation questions to settle before departure.

5. Issue Beastmaster animal commands through marking

Beastmasters carrying a Beast Whistle can use the marking feature to direct their animals. The new Quick Commands setting is enabled by default and can be disabled in Settings if you prefer not to use it.

Check the class and carried whistle first when looking for this option. If the new marking behavior gets in your way, the Settings toggle gives you a way to return to your preferred setup.

6. Adjust Territory panel range and individual audio

If facility information is cluttering a busy base, open Settings > Game Settings > Territory Display Settings > 3D UI Display Range. That setting adjusts the display range of facility information panels. Experiment with the range that leaves the information you need visible.

Territory instruments, jukeboxes and radios also gain individual volume adjustment. Use that control when one source of sound is drowning out the rest of your base. The panel and volume settings address separate parts of the presentation, so adjust each to suit your setup.

7. Read Custom Server feedback before committing

The Server Details Page now includes player ratings and reviews. You can read other players' experiences, like useful reviews, and compare what they say about a server before choosing where to play.

Posting your own review requires at least ten minutes played on that server. That is a posting requirement, not a guarantee that every review is reliable. Look for specific descriptions of the rules and experience you care about. Our Once Human page links the rest of our coverage if you are deciding what to do next.
